This is a succesful attempt to make a great improvement in overall size. The London Dome was a very popular style with a myriad of sizes and differences in detail.

Sizes vary from a horn diameter of just over an inch to a big as 7 inches.

Expensive domes are silver plated and older ones beautifully engraved solid silver.

Materials include brass, copper and tin.

Later designs came in faux tortoise shell.

The 'swan' version is very pocketable.
